DIY Man-Eating Plants

We were both ecstatic with our final results!

This Halloween
I asked my crafty neighbor if she wanted to take a crack at making some man-eating plants – something I’d been seeing around the internet for a while. It turned out to be a really fun project, and in just two days we had created 12 man-eating little cuties.

Materials and Tools

Above are the supplies I ordered from Amazon. Shopping through these links may earn me a small commission and helps me to continue experimenting with projects and sharing what works.

Assembly Instructions
— PROCEED WITH CAUTION —

We started with foam footballs.

I purchased ours on Amazon in bulk bags, but you can probably also find these at the Dollar Store. We had 9, 7” footballs and 3, 8’.5” footballs. The colors don’t matter as we were painting them anyway. We are going to end up making a cut ¾ of the way straight through the football. To prevent us from going too far and reduce the risk of tearing further apart, we put electric tape on both backsides where the cuts would be coming down.
