Easter Egg Centerpiece

My Easter centerpiece is an easy DIY decoration made with pastel-colored eggs, bright greenery, and faux flowers arranged to create a natural-looking spring display. I put it together in just a few steps and it looks right at home on my holiday table.

I love encouraging the inner child in people - especially when it comes to traditions we enjoyed as kids but often drop as adults. That’s why I enjoy hosting grown-up gatherings for things like carving pumpkins or dyeing Easter eggs. Just a group of adults, a few cocktails, some munchies, and all the supplies laid out and ready to go. You’d be surprised how quickly everyone slips right into the activity - and the fun - once everything is sitting there in front of them.

Since I’ll be having friends over for dyeing eggs again this Easter, I wanted to add a few seasonal touches around the house. I had already reassembled my favorite Tulip/Carrot centerpiece, but I also wanted something built around a colorful egg theme. The resulting eggs, lilies, and tulips arrangement turned out to be exactly what I had in mind.

Use plastic or blown-out eggs for a more budget-friendly version.

1I found these amazing ceramic colored eggs on Amazon. Life-like in size, beautiful matte finish, and perfect pastels. A little more than I usually spend for something like this, but they can be used more than once and for different projects.

2More from Amazon - pretty pink latex tulips.

3A box of nice white latex Easter Lilies - 6 stems per box; each stem has 3 flowers and 4 real-touch (soft, realistic) leaves.

4Small purple flowers, or Baby’s Breath.

5I'm using a 6” by 8” glass vase, and a bud vase for the center.

6The bud vase in the center needs to be small enough for the eggs to be arranged around it. My eggs just fit!

7Some bright green, paper grass makes a perfect bed for the eggs to rest on, and a nice color contrast.

8The initial layer of grass at the bottom for the eggs to rest on.

9I place the first layer of eggs all leaning in one direction, and then change that direction for the next layer. I also alternate the colors.

10I’m putting a little grass on top of each layer so it is visible between the eggs.

13Now that all the eggs are in, it's time to focus on the floral arrangement.

14The lilies I purchased all have long stems - the flowerheads pop right onto them. I save one tall stem of lilies for the center height, but the other lilies are trimmed shorter and used to encircle the top of the vase (just above the eggs).

15For these shorter lilies, I didn’t actually put the stems into the bud vase... just bent/curved the stems a bit and stuck them between the bud vase and egg layers. This is what it looks like from the top.

16Once the lilies are in place, I add the tulips to the bud vase.

17The outer-most tulips should be slightly bent so they curve over the lilies.

18Fill in the center with the remaining tulips.

19For the finish, I added a few of the purple flowers and the single long stem of lilies to the center. They will be at the highest point.

20I think it came out really pretty. I just love those pastel colored eggs!
